The trial of Police Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, who is accused of killing his girlfriend Victoria Dapaah, also known as Maa Adwoa at Adum, is scheduled to commence in the High Court in Kumasi on November 13.
An adjournment of the case management conference has already been ordered by the court in relation to the event that took place in April of this year.
The first prosecution witness is anticipated to be called at the following hearing.
Inspector Twumasi has already entered a plea of not guilty to the charges that he killed the fictitious girlfriend.
In an effort to expedite the proceedings for the sake of justice, the court, according to state prosecutors, is taking these actions.
This comes after the prosecution previously stated that it was prepared to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the accused was responsible for the late Dapaah’s death on April 20, 2018, when he shot her multiple times at close range.
According to an autopsy report made public by the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), the deceased’s body had six bullet entry wounds and seven bullet exit wounds.
The deceased’s multiple gunshot wounds caused hemorrhagic shock, according to the pathologists who labeled the death as “unnatural”.
