The World Bank has pledged to help Ghana address the issue of young unemployment.
Supporting a new Growth and Jobs Strategy that aims to provide opportunities for more than 500,000 young people entering the workforce each year would be one way to do this.
The statement came after a high-level discussion between Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, and Anna Bjerde, the Bank’s Managing Director of Operations, at the World Bank headquarters.
The two leaders talked about how they will work together to develop and execute the strategy, which emphasizes inclusive economic growth, skill development, and job creation.
“This initiative reflects our shared priority of unlocking opportunities for young people,” Madam Bjerde said.
According to her, the World Bank was honored to collaborate with Ghana on a plan that would boost employment and fortify the country’s economy.
Dr. Forson expressed gratitude for the assistance and emphasized the significance of daring, focused initiatives to deal with the increasing number of job searchers.
“This partnership is a major step forward in our efforts to provide decent and sustainable jobs for our youth,” he stated.
