There will be changes to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) existing leadership in Parliament.

The current Deputy Majority Leader of Effutu MP, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, is expected to succeed Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.

As reported on Monday, February 19, by citinewsroom.com, the reorganization raises questions about the MP Suame’s future, especially in his capacity as Minister for Parliamentary Affairs.

But according to reports, he might serve as the NPP’s 2024 Manifesto Committee chair.

Additional changes include the promotion of Habib Iddrisu, the current First Deputy Whip, to Majority Chief Whip and the elevation of Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the Majority Chief Whip and MP for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, to the position of Deputy Majority Leader.

Once more, Patricia Appiagyei, an Asokwa MP, is expected to take over as First Deputy Whip, covering for Lydia Seyram Alhassan, who was nominated to be Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation.

According to sources, Sefwi-Akontombra MP Alex Tetteh Djornobuah is expected to take over as second deputy whip.

In order to formally implement these changes, the NPP’s National Council will meet on Monday. This comes after President Akuffo-Addo reorganized his cabinet on Valentine’s Day last week.
