Two individuals have been taken into custody in relation to a carjacking and robbery at Mpatasie, which is close to St. Anthony Hospital in the Ashanti Region, according to the Ghana Police Service.
“The suspects, Issaka Jamal, aged 30, and Kwadwo Badu, aged 40, were arrested after attempting to flee from the police along the Ofankor–St. John’s stretch of the Accra–Nsawam Highway on November 8, 2025,” stated Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Public Relations Officer of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
A gunshot wound was inflicted by one, while the other injuries were minor.
At the moment, both are being treated at the Police Hospital.
She stated that on November 7, two passengers of an unregistered silver Hyundai Tucson (DV-5357-Z) in Mpatasie were attacked by the suspects and their accomplices, who stole GH¢120,000, three cell phones, identity cards, work tools, and other valuables before taking off with the car.
“The operation led to the recovery of the stolen Hyundai Tucson, GH¢5,900 in cash, a customized number plate marked ‘Congo-1-24,’ and other exhibits,” she said, adding that the items had been secured at the Police Headquarters.
