Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, has promised that the government will support foreign investment in Ghana’s priority areas of trade, infrastructure, and digital technology as part of continuous efforts to improve bilateral cooperation with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The Minister stated that the government supports legitimate private investment in important fields like data centres, cybersecurity, blockchain technology, and artificial intelligence when meeting with His Excellency Mohamed Bin Abdulla Al Marzooqi, Chairman of the Al Marzooqi Group.
He clarified that although Ghana currently has a national data centre, private sector companies may set up facilities to service telecom firms, banks, and other sectors as long as they have the required licences.

The government is particularly interested in blockchain technology, according to Hon. Samuel Nartey George, particularly in the digitalisation of land records at the Lands Commission to reduce conflicts and improve transparency.
Additionally, he emphasised the Ministry’s intentions to create a centralised Security Operations Centre (SOC) to supervise current cybersecurity infrastructure across government, telecom, energy, and financial services organisations.
He gave the group his word that the government will be willing to encourage investors who share national interests through regulations.
His Excellency Mohamed Bin Abdulla Al Marzooqi, who also serves as a private consultant to members of the royal families of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah, described the goals of his September 30–October 8, 2025, business trip to Ghana.

In addition to investigating partnerships in digital technology, education, logistics, real estate, and trade, he stated that the visit intends to establish a business bridge between Ghana and the United Arab Emirates.
Mr Al Marzooqi clarified that his Group, a multifaceted corporate conglomerate with activities in the Gulf and other regions, was especially eager to introduce cutting-edge AI-driven educational solutions, container-based data centres, and innovative cybersecurity techniques.
He added that the Al Marzooqi Group was already in talks with nations like India and Germany on related projects and that the Group was dedicated to assisting Ghana’s growth by coordinating its projects with governmental priorities.
