The management of the Youth Resource Centers around the nation has been instructed by Vice President Bawumia to instill a culture of proper use and care for the facilities.
Dr. Bawumia expressed his pleasure with the progress of the work so far during a Wednesday, May 17, 2023 inspection of continuing construction at the Wa Youth Resource Center. He also tasked the contractor with meeting the estimated completion date.
According to the contractor, Phase One of the project is finished, while Phase Two is 98% finished.
One of ten such resource centers, for which construction started in the ten areas that existed at the time before the introduction of six new regions, is the Wa Youth Resource Center.

The multipurpose facilities will include football fields, stands, and other areas for youth training and development to assist them develop the necessary abilities in a variety of sports for the benefit of society as a whole.
Dr. Bawumia remembered that the Resource Center at Adaklu in the Volta Region hosted the Independence Day celebration this year and stressed that the government was committed to seeing that the other centers were also finished.
“What I have seen so far has really impressed me. The contractor informed me that the work would be finished in a few months.

“This infrastructure is crucial for Ghana, especially for the residents of Wa and the Upper West Region. Since it serves multiple purposes, it should aid in identifying and developing the different sporting disciplines’ most talented individuals. Additionally, it will support constructive use of youthful energies.
He emphasized, “This is a commitment we have kept, and we will keep keeping our pledges.
Hafiz Bin Salih, the regional minister, and other government officials accompanied the vice president on his day-long visit to the area.
