Every Wednesday, all Ghanaians and their friends are encouraged to wear fugu (batakari) as part of a new nationwide program established by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts.

Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the sector minister, signed the statement, which states that the action is intended to uphold Ghana’s rich cultural legacy and promote national pride and identity.

Through the empowerment of local weavers, designers, artisans, and traders throughout the value chain, the initiative is also anticipated to produce considerable social and economic advantages.

According to the government, the widespread use of Fugu will boost the creative economy, promote national unity, and represent Ghana’s cultural confidence.
