Muntaka Mohammed, the interior minister, will give a briefing to the nation today regarding the violence that plagued the elections in 2020 and 2024.
This follows Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama’s request that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) look into the violence that tainted the elections.
The government’s spokesperson, Information Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu, stated on social media that the briefing will begin at 2:00 PM today.
The Minister will disclose the consequences imposed on those responsible for the various forms of election violence, he clarified.
“In January this year, President Mahama asked the IGP to conduct investigations into the killings and violence that occured during the 2020 and 2024 Elections. At 2pm today, Minister for the Interior,Hon Muntaka Mohamed-Mubarak, will brief the nation on the details of the investigation report and actions taken against the perpetrators,” his post read.
