To strengthen Ghana, its people resources must stay after they have been taught and gained the necessary knowledge. These were the words of Edward Ahadome of Adome Group Limited, who presided at the 87th anniversary of Presbyterian Boys Senior High School.

He contended that countries that are so respected were founded by their residents, not by onlookers, and urged his colleagues to not only visit Ghana for Detty December, but also to stay and help solve the basic problems.

“Many of the countries we often admire were constructed by their own residents, not by onlookers sitting abroad or graduates sitting in another country. “The Koreans built Korea, Singaporeans built Singapore, and Chinese built China,” he said.

He went on to say that because PRESEC is the main institution that produces some of the finest minds in the country, they can only help solve the country’s problems that they always moan about when they take the daring step of staying in Ghana.

“If we want to fix problems or the challenges that we face in this country, then you, being some of the brightest in this country, must aspire to be nation builders.”

I will always say this: do not underestimate what one Ghanaian, one determined Ghanaian, especially one with the Presec background, can accomplish. We can create companies, we can build factories, we can be policy shapers, we can employ 100s, we can employ 1000s,” he remarked.

The school’s Y2K organization honored and supported the 87th anniversary.
