The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and sister security agencies will hold a joint Show of Force exercise in Accra today, Thursday, December 11, 2025, to display their readiness to maintain peace and security as the festive season approaches.
The coordinated drill will begin at 9:00 a.m. at Black Star Square, go through important streets in the capital, and return to the same location.
According to a public statement, the exercise will include the Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Revenue Authority’s Customs Division, and Ghana Immigration Service.
The operation’s objectives are to improve operational readiness, discourage criminal conduct, and convince the public that security agencies are prepared to protect national stability.
The event is characterized as a regular training exercise intended to bolster a robust national security posture against prospective threats and improve interagency cooperation.
The public has been urged to carry on with their regular activities, although authorities warn that inhabitants of Accra and the surrounding areas may encounter temporary traffic slowdowns and an increased security presence.
