Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, Member of Parliament (MP) for Karaga Constituency and former Finance Minister, has completed and dedicated a 6,000-capacity mosque in Tamale, Northern Region.
One of Ghana’s biggest Islamic prayer centers, Masjid Al-Noor is named after the magnificent Islamic expression “The Light,” which comes from the root nun-waw-ra.
The facility’s surrounding grounds can hold an extra 4,000 people.
At the commissioning, the former minister, who takes his Islamic beliefs seriously, also gave GHS 300,000 to assist the mosque’s activities.

He disclosed, “I have donated GHS 300,000 as seed money to the Masjid Al-Noor management to start the operation of the mosque.”
He expressed gratitude to the workers, architects, and contractors for their contributions to the project’s successful conclusion.
“May Allah bless this mission and all who contributed to it, and may he continue to reward us all,” he said.
Dr. Adam’s gift was praised by former Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who attended the commissioning.
“The impressive edifice is not only a place of worship; it is also envisioned as a centre for learning, research, family guidance, and community development,” he said.

He expressed hope that young people from all around the nation will be trained and nurtured at the center.
Additionally, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia contributed GHS 200,000 in cash to support the recently opened mosque.
The Masjid Al Noor mosque in Tamale, which features some study rooms, was commissioned with Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, the National Chief Imam, as the Special Guest of Honour.
