The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a four-day planned maintenance exercise that will result in temporary power outages in parts of Accra East from Monday, August 10, to Thursday, August 13, 2026.
According to ECG, affected customers will experience electricity interruptions between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day as engineers carry out maintenance and infrastructure improvement works.
The power company said the planned outage forms part of its ongoing efforts to upgrade electricity infrastructure, improve system reliability and enhance power supply to customers in the affected communities.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, August 8, 2026, ECG explained that the maintenance exercise is necessary to strengthen the reliability and efficiency of the electricity distribution network.

Monday, August 10:
The planned power interruption will affect Teiman, Oyarifa, Mr Smith, parts of Ogbodjo, Tsmasiwaa Hospital and Ability.
Tuesday, August 11:
Customers in Ashiyie, parts of Dodowa, Tobinco, Oasis Estate and Manet Junction are expected to experience temporary power outages.
Wednesday, August 12:
The affected areas will include parts of Labone, Agbogba Zongo, Adenta SDA, Tot-to-teen School, Top Herbal Clinic, parts of Madina and Libya Quarters.
Thursday, August 13:
The final phase of the planned maintenance will affect Achimota School and surrounding communities.
ECG has urged customers in the affected areas to take note of the power outage schedule and make the necessary arrangements ahead of the planned maintenance.
The exercise is expected to support the company’s broader efforts to improve electricity service delivery, grid reliability and power supply across Accra.
