The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has taken a major step toward improving its operations and service delivery after its Governing Council approved a series of strategic policies aimed at accelerating the institution’s reset agenda.
The policies were approved during the 33rd sitting of the GIS Governing Council on Friday, under the chairmanship of Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam.
The newly adopted measures are expected to strengthen the Ghana Immigration Service’s operational capacity, enhance efficiency and improve the quality of services provided to the public. They are also intended to align the Service with its renewed institutional vision and support its ongoing transformation efforts.
The Governing Council described the policy direction as an important step toward building a more effective and responsive immigration service in Ghana.

New GIS Deputy Comptrollers-General Introduced
The meeting also featured the formal introduction of the newly appointed Deputy Comptrollers-General of the Ghana Immigration Service to the Governing Council.
The Council congratulated the new appointees on their appointments and encouraged them to provide strong leadership and promote greater collaboration within the Service.
They were further urged to bring fresh ideas, renewed energy and professionalism to their respective roles as the Ghana Immigration Service continues to implement its transformation and reset agenda.
The development is expected to strengthen leadership within the GIS and contribute to improved immigration services, operational efficiency and institutional development in Ghana.
