Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, popularly known as ‘Strika’ from the acclaimed Netflix movie Beasts of No Nation, has reportedly been apprehended by residents at Kwashieman in Accra over an alleged attempt to remove metal railings from a footbridge.
According to reports, the young actor was allegedly caught dismantling the metal railings on the Kwashieman footbridge with the intention of selling them as scrap metal.
The incident has attracted public attention because of Strika’s background as a Ghanaian actor who gained international recognition after starring in Beasts of No Nation alongside Hollywood actor Idris Elba and Ghanaian actor Abraham Attah.
Strika became widely known following his role in the 2015 Netflix war drama, which brought international attention to his acting career. Reports at the time also indicated that he received about $30,000 for his role in the movie.
