The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced an eight-hour emergency power outage affecting parts of the Accra East Region on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
According to ECG, the temporary power interruption will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm as engineers carry out emergency maintenance works to fix a fault and improve the reliability of electricity supply.
In a public notice issued on Saturday, August 29, ECG said the scheduled power outage in Accra will affect several communities and facilities within the region.
Areas Affected by ECG Power Outage
The areas expected to experience the temporary electricity interruption include:
- Parts of Trassaco
- Saso
- Sidalco
- Signature Apartments
- Cassa Trassaco
- Action Chapel
- Bank of Ghana warehouse
- Tip Toe Lane
- Odo Rice
- Parts of Carprice
- Surrounding communities
ECG explained that the emergency maintenance exercise is necessary to enable its technical team to work on the identified fault and strengthen the electricity distribution network.
ECG Appeals to Affected Customers
The power company has apologised to customers and businesses in the affected areas for the inconvenience caused by the temporary electricity interruption.
ECG has urged residents to take note of the August 30 power outage schedule and make the necessary preparations ahead of the maintenance exercise.
Customers in the affected communities are advised to plan accordingly, particularly households and businesses that depend on a stable electricity supply for their daily activities.
