Popular Black Stars supporter Kailani ‘Powder Man’ Ibrahim Kpa has appeared before Accra Circuit Court 9 in connection with an alleged $32,000 visa fraud case.
Kpa appeared in court on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, a day after he was arrested by the Ghana Police Service over allegations linked to visa and travel arrangements.
The popular football supporter is also expected to face a separate $50,000 visa fraud case, potentially bringing the total amount he is accused of obtaining from alleged victims to more than $80,000.
Kpa was arrested on Tuesday, August 25, by officers from the Ghana Police Service Documentation and Visa Fraud Unit at East Legon in Accra.
According to the allegations, Kpa collected thousands of dollars from individuals after promising to arrange international travel and visas to Canada, Nicaragua and the United States. However, he allegedly failed to fulfil the arrangements and later became unreachable.
Powder Man Gained Fame During 2026 FIFA World Cup
Kpa, popularly known as ‘Powder Man’, became widely recognised internationally after videos of him supporting Ghana’s Black Stars during matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup went viral.
His distinctive style of celebrating Ghana’s matches by blowing white powder attracted significant attention from football fans and social media users during the tournament hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
However, following his rise to fame, several claims and financial disputes reportedly emerged concerning alleged overseas travel and visa arrangements.
The latest court case has brought renewed attention to the importance of verifying legitimate travel agencies and visa service providers before making payments for international travel arrangements.
