Sam Nartey George, a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ningo Prampram Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has revealed how the #OccupyBOG Demonstration petition will be delivered to the Bank of Ghana.
The Member of Parliament disclosed that the demonstrators will walk from “Obra Spot” at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange through certain key streets of the city while speaking to the media at Obra Spot, the gathering point for the demonstration taking place today, September 3.
The protesters will proceed to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park (KNMP), where they will stop in accordance with plans made with the police, he continued.
The party’s leadership will therefore keep walking till they reach the Bank of Ghana, where they will present their petition.
This protest comes after the Central Bank lost GH60.81 billion during the fiscal year 2022 and spent more than $250 million building a new headquarters at North Ridge.
There had been prior allegations of confusion surrounding an earlier march to the Central Bank’s premises between the leaders and the Police.
