The first National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP) Evaluation of Ghana will be introduced by President Akufo-Addo on Thursday, December 21, 2023, in the Jubilee House Banquet Hall.
Ghana’s National Framework for Anti-Corruption Initiatives and National Development is constituted by NACAP.
Stakeholders from across the country identified and approved strategic action plans for it during consultations.
The President’s pledge to combat corruption, the 1992 Constitution, and Ghana’s commitments under the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) are the reasons behind the NACAP’s implementation.
The primary advantage of the NACAP is its action plans’ direct integration into National Development Planning, which makes them an essential component of the institutions’ yearly routines, such as those of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
It is now required for the nation to assess the level of progress made in the fight against corruption under the NACAP after the plan has been successfully implemented for a number of years and in the last year of implementation.
A working committee comprised of anti-corruption practitioners and experts aided in the design of NACAP.
They included delegates from the following establishments and groups:
• Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ)
• Office of the President
• Internal Audit Agency (IAA)
• Parliament of Ghana
• Judicial Service of Ghana
• Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Justice
• National Development Planning Commission
• Public Services Commission
• Ministry of Finance
• Africa Peer Review Mechanism (APRM)Economic and Organized Crime Office
• Ghana Integrity Initiative
• Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition
• Ghana Centre for Democratic Development
• The Justice and Human Rights Institute
• African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption
• Development Partners
At ten in the morning, the ceremony will be broadcast live on the state broadcaster and many private media outlets.
