The Ejisu constituency in the Ashanti region will hold a by-election on April 30, according to the Electoral Commission (EC).
The choice was made in response to the death on March 7 of John Kumah, a member of the New Patriotic Party and deputy finance minister.
Meanwhile, nine candidates have been authorized by the NPP vetting committee to participate in a primary on Saturday, April 6, with the aim of electing a candidate.
The National Democratic Congress, the opposition party, has not yet expressed interest in the by-election.
All nine candidates filed their applications by the deadline on Thursday, April 4, 2024, after the NPP began nominations on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
The NPP candidates and their places on the ballot are listed below:
