In the recent general elections held on December 7, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly warned returning officers not to try to influence the outcome of the vote.
According to the party’s Director of Elections and IT, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, any officer found guilty of falsifying results would be prosecuted.
Dr. Omane Boamah emphasized in a social media post the significance of transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
“Returning officers need to be aware that they will face legal action if they attempt to alter the results,” he said.
Additionally, he called on the public to maintain their vigilance and to keep “#EAGLEEYES” on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Electoral Commission (EC) in order to guarantee justice and honesty in the results’ compilation and announcement.
