As the National Democratic Congress (NDC) gets ready to create the next administration, Nathan Kofi Boakye, a retired Commissioner of Police (COP) and a key member of the party’s security committee, has urged party members to avoid egotistical split.
He emphasized the value of togetherness in attaining long-term success while speaking at the victory party for the Ashanti regional zone two campaign team in Kumasi.
“If we care for one another, we will enter the 2028 elections with stronger strategies and renewed energy. We must avoid being divided by greed,” said COP (retired) Boakye.
To guarantee that the party’s governance is inclusive and successful, he asked members to maintain unity and back the elected president and appointees.
He warned appointees from using their positions to coerce others, but acknowledged that not all supporters will be appointed.
“Those who do receive appointments must not use their positions to intimidate others. Demonstrate leadership and care for your fellow party members,” He counseled.
In addition, Kofi Boakye commended NDC followers for their perseverance and hard work, which helped the party defeat the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the general elections of 2024.
“At the moment, we walk with our heads held high because we have defeated the NPP in the 2024 election – a victory we are all sharing due to our hard work,” he stated.
He urged members to use the same vigor to back President-elect John Dramani Mahama and his nominees, making sure that their leadership results in significant progress for Ghanaians.
“Let’s use the same energy to support our elected president in bringing about positive ch ange, which will ensure even greater rewards from Ghanaians in the 2028 elections,” he continued.
He also reaffirmed the party’s shared goal of creating a prosperous and welcoming Ghana under President-elect Mahama’s direction.
