Interior Minister Visits Immigration and Small Arms Commission (PHOTOS)

The Ghana Immigration Service and the National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons were visited by the Honourable Minister of the Interior, Muntaka Mohamed-Mubarak, during his working tour.

At GIS headquarters, he expressed his gratitude to Mr. Kwame Asuah Takyi, Comptroller-General of Immigration, and his staff for their unwavering efforts to secure Ghana’s borders.

Along with acknowledging the logistical limitations that GIS has, Hon. Muntaka gave them the assurance that the government is committed to retooling the Service in order to improve operations.

The Hon. Minister urged cooperation and coordination among interested parties to counter the spread of small arms and light weapons at the National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons.

According to Hon. Muntaka, the commission is essential to advancing security and peace in Ghana and the subregion.
