Black Stars coach Otto Addo is still confident in his team’s chances as they get ready to play Chad in today’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Kickoff for the pivotal Matchday Five match between the four-time African champions and Chad is scheduled for 19:00 GMT tonight.

Addo and his team are under a lot of scrutiny because they didn’t make it to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

However, the 49-year-old coach emphasized to the media prior to the game that the team’s destiny is still in their own hands and that he is confident in getting a good outcome.

“We have everything in our own hands now, which is very important and good for us. This is really positive,” Addo reiterated.

“I am very sure we will deliver against Chad. I’m not an expert, I just always want to win,” he said.

The Black Stars will travel to Morocco on Monday for their Matchday Six matchup against Madagascar, following their match against Chad.
