The tragic murder of a Ghanaian soldier in Bawku has been sharply condemned by President John Dramani Mahama, who called the atrocity intolerable.
He underlined that it is improper to criticize the military, particularly when they are not actively involved in a fight.
As part of his Thank You tour, Mahama spoke at Jubilee Park in Bolgatanga and offered his sincere sympathies to the soldier’s family. He also showed empathy for civilians who were hurt or attacked during the military operation.
He emphasized that peace and stability are essential for growth and reaffirmed the need of cooperation and unity in advancing national prosperity. As a result, he urged everyone involved to work together to bring peace back to the unstable area.
Mahama’s comments coincide with continuing unrest in Bawku, where security personnel have been sent in to keep the peace. His appeal for peace emphasizes how urgently communication and collaboration are needed to end the violence.
