Gomoa Central’s representative, Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A Plus, acknowledged on national television that he accepted payments from Zoomlion’s CEO to halt his campaign advocating for decentralization of trash management.
He claimed that because Paul Adom Otchere had disparaged his personality on national television, he had to attack his boss, who controls Zoomlion and Metro TV, in retaliation.
Following that, A Plus launched a social media campaign advocating for decentralized garbage management, which led Zoomlion’s owner, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, to step in and get in touch with him.
In an interview on Channel 1 television, A Plus revealed that he received enormous payments to stop the campaign, which negatively portrayed Zoomlion.
“This man says, ‘A Plus, you have gone to take GH₵250,000…’ after taking my picture and putting it on TV. He stated a lot, and the money he was referring to—you claim to be NPP, but why aren’t you mentioning the NPP lawmakers who are receiving the money? Alright, so A Plus will remain silent. I’ve changed, but I’m still a really nasty person. I simply walked away from him without replying when he did it.
Then, since Zoomlion controls Metro TV, I began “Waste Management Must Be Decentralised” on Monday. Therefore, Paul, if you utilize Metro TV to achieve that, you have nothing valuable that I will target besides your wife,” he said.
“I started ‘Waste Management Must Be Decentralised’ because I wanted to attack his boss, Zoomlion, and I spent time on it. Do you see where all the Youth Employment issues are heading? Yes, I will have time. I will deal with you.
His boss called me; Zoomlion called me so many times, but I wasn’t picking up his calls. Everyone in this country was calling me, saying, Zoomlion wants to talk to you, but I wasn’t picking up. Paul, ask your boss what happened when he met me. I won’t sue you for defamation. Have you noticed I stopped the waste management campaign? Because his boss paid me for his misbehavior on Metro TV,” he added
