The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Mr. Samuel A. Jinapor, claims that the fight against climate change calls for group effort and that, under President Akufo-Addo’s direction, his Ministry will continue to collaborate with all stakeholders to halt climate change and meet the 1.5 degrees Celsius target.

The UK’s Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Thérèse Coffey, MP, and the Lands Minister met strategically on Friday, May 5, 2023, in London, United Kingdom.

The meeting’s main topics included the Sustainable Food Systems and Biodiversity Conservation initiatives undertaken by Ghana and the UK, as well as the new and innovative Forest and Climate Leaders’ Partnership (FCLP), the Voluntary Partnership Agreement on Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (VPA-FLEGT), and other issues relating to forests and climate change that concern both countries.

He thinks that the UK and Ghana are both committed to following this course and will create indicators to track the development of initiatives to solve these problems.

Climate Change, Forest Finance, and Deforestation: The Role of Carbon Markets Regulations requiring due diligence in commodity supply chains have become top priority for boosting interest in and aspirations for sustainable financing.
