In Ho, Volta Region, an accident at the Ghana Highway Authority entry close to Ghana Water Company Limited has left a motorist and a pedestrian critically injured.

The collision, which involved a Nissan Sentra registered GT 515-17, happened late on Saturday, March 16, 2025.

Witness Dodzi Ameko told Class News that the driver was traveling on the Accra Highway near police headquarters. He said that a pedestrian was hurt when the driver of the Nissan Sentra swerved off course, crossed the central pavement of the road, and collided with the Ghana Highway Authority’s office entrance.

“The driver, as a result, lost control, resulting in a gory accident,” he narated.

The young people in the area responded quickly, and the driver was taken to the Ho Teaching Hospital for treatment.

This is the second collision on that section of the road in as many months.

To reduce accidents, locals urged the Ghana Highway Authority to build a speed ramp.

Additionally, the Ho Municipal Fire Service Command has issued a warning to drivers to refrain from needless speeding and to keep their eyes off other things while driving.
