In a recent disclosure, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, revealed that Ghana’s Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, resigned from his job as Secretary to the Executive Council of the National Cathedral of Ghana in a covert way on January 19, 2023.
Mr. Ablakwa also alleged that Mr. Dame was afterwards replaced by Sena Chartered Secretaries Ltd on March 16, 2023.
According to Mr. Ablakwa, the Attorney General’s departure can be seen as a calculated attempt to separate himself from the scandal-plagued National Cathedral project.

The North Tongu MP believes that many observers will see this as a premeditated act by the Attorney General to jump ship and protect his reputation.
He emphasized that Mr. Dame’s discreet retirement from President Akufo-Addo’s billion-dollar legacy initiative, which the President has called as his “priority of priorities,” had not before been brought to the attention of the Ghanaian public.
The congressman continued by saying that only time will tell whether Mr. Dame’s seeming resignation in the manner of Pontius Pilate will relieve him of any guilt when judgment day arrives.
The disclosure of Godfred Dame’s secret departure adds another element of mystery to the continuing debate over the National Cathedral project.
While the public awaits further advancements, the project’s administration and the involvement of significant persons remain a source of curiosity and concern.
