Ghanaian media personality Delay has shared a powerful inspirational story about rejection, faith and how life’s disappointments can sometimes lead people toward their true purpose.
Reflecting on her experience in 2006 during the FIFA World Cup in Germany, Delay revealed that she was working in radio at the time but had plans to leave Ghana in search of better opportunities abroad.
She recalled walking into an embassy with hopes of securing a visa, accompanied by a one-way ticket and plans to build a new life overseas.
However, her visa application was rejected.
According to Delay, the rejection was devastating because she had already made plans for her journey and had a classmate who had promised to accommodate her when she arrived.
After the visa refusal, she tried repeatedly to contact her classmate, but the calls went unanswered.
Looking back, Delay said the experience taught her an important lesson about faith, purpose and God’s direction.
She explained that what appeared to be a painful rejection at the time may have been a form of divine redirection. Rather than being denied a better future, she believes she was being prepared to become the person others would eventually look to for opportunities and inspiration.
Delay encouraged her followers not to lose hope when faced with disappointment or closed doors.
Her message was simple: trust God, remain patient and believe that setbacks can be part of a greater purpose.
