The Ghana Health Service’s Ashanti Regional Health Directorate has acted decisively to address the concerning increase of COVID-19 infections in the area.

The goal of the 11th National COVID Vaccination Days (NaCVaDs), which is being called “Protect Yourself, Protect Your Family, Get Vaccinated Against Covid-19 Now!” is to shield people from the virus’s catastrophic impacts as individuals, families, and communities.

Approximately 88,130 people will receive immunizations from the committed vaccination teams as they visit homes, markets, schools, places of worship, and medical facilities from July 3rd to July 7th, 2024.

Since Ghana is the country with the second-highest incidence of COVID-19 infections in the area, obtaining herd immunity is becoming more and more crucial.

The Ashanti Regional Health Director, Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang, urged Ghanaians who are 18 years of age and older who have not received their vaccinations or booster doses to take advantage of this chance to get immunized at a briefing.

Then, Dr. Tenkorang underlined the significance of this immunization, stating that it is the best strategy now in place to stop the spread of COVID-19 and shield people from life-threatening sickness, hospitalization, and even death.

As of July 1, 2024, a total of 4,975,796 doses had been provided; of those, 1,960,955 (53.4%) had received all recommended doses, and 2,654,554 (72.4%) had received at least one.

The immunization teams will make visits to a variety of public spaces, including marketplaces, truck stops, schools, churches, mosques, and neighborhoods.

The health authorities want to make the vaccination process more convenient and remove any logistical obstacles by delivering the shots right to residents’ doorsteps.

Launching the 11th National COVID Vaccination Days, the Ashanti Regional Health Directorate is taking decisive action against the growing number of COVID-19 cases.

The regional health directorate is committed to achieving herd immunity and overcoming the obstacles presented by vaccination reluctance.

By taking care of ourselves, we safeguard our loved ones, our communities, and eventually help the country’s efforts to stop the COVID-19 virus from spreading.

Let’s prioritize public health and work together to complete this vital task so that we can overcome the pandemic.
