Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with his Japanese colleague, Mr. Iwaya Takeshi, on the sidelines of the TICAD 9 Summit in Yokohama, Japan, on Friday, August 22, 2025.
The deliberations centred on the Summit and its significance for Ghana-Japan relations, infrastructural projects such as the Volivo Bridge project, construction of Kumasi Inner City Roads, the observation of the 100th Anniversary of Dr. Hideyo Noguchi’s arrival in Ghana, the 70th Anniversary of Ghana-Japan relations, the 60th Anniversary of the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV), and the 80th Anniversary of the United Nations, with a specific focus on the need to reform the UN
