Following a distress call, the Ghana National Fire Service in the Upper West Region effectively contained a big fire at Kabanye in Wa.
When firefighters arrived, they discovered that the fire had spread to surrounding stores and the rooftop of a compound, made worse by the lack of gable walls.
The fire was contained and eventually put out by the team using several hoses and assistance from a private water tanker.
