Ghanaians have received assurances from Justice Senyo Dzamefe, the nominee for the Supreme Court, that the facts and evidence that are submitted before the court are the only factors that impact judicial decisions.
Justice Dzamefe addressed concerns about alleged biases in the legal system and forcefully reaffirmed his position on judicial impartiality during his appearance before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Monday, June 16.
“Mr. Chairman, as judges, we base our decisions on the evidence and the facts, not on friendship,” he emphasized.
“So if I follow someone, not for me, but for the association, I was talking to the association, and that person appeared, not necessarily for my cause; the decision will be based on the facts and the evidence, not because of an association.”
