The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Eastern Regional management team visited Koforidua Central Hospital to observe the government’s fully implemented free dialysis program.
Mr. Eugen Opoku Afrifa, the Regional Director, escorted the team to the facilities and expressed satisfaction with the results.
He praised the government and NHIA Executive Management for successfully implementing the program during its six-month pilot before including it into the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Benefit Package.
“This breathtaking initiative buttresses the fact that the NHIA remains committed to ensuring quality healthcare services for all residents in Ghana.”
Mr. Oti Frempong, the acting director of the NHIA Membership and Regional Operations Directorate, joined the monitoring team and urged cooperation in order to accomplish the program’s goal.
In a related development, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officers at the district and regional levels have been prepared and assigned the responsibility of stepping up efforts to raise knowledge of the new policy.
