Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) national chairman, has defended his recent thank-you tour.
As the party’s chairman, he claims the tour will help him reestablish the party’s ties to the people while governance is still in place.
As part of a three-day “Thank You Tour” in the wake of the NDC’s election victory, he met with branch and constituency executives, ward coordinators, former party officials, cadres, and Assembly members in the Asuogyaman Constituency on Wednesday, September 17.
He said, “People across the country are applauding us for the victory; we give you the real credit.”
All NDC members should be calm, Mr. Asiedu Nketia said, promising that the Mahama administration would provide opportunities for everyone.
The NDC Chairman urged understanding in response to members’ worries over their lack of appointment to government positions, emphasizing that the leadership is striving to guarantee that all devoted members get the chance to serve.
Using the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as an example, Mr. Asiedu Nketia also cautioned against internal divides.
“If we do what we want with the positions we have gotten, our party will be divided like the NPP’s. But I know that will never happen,” he remarked.
“What NPP is now doing is a contest to hell. The flagbearer aspirants are criticising each other and are enumerating the sins and faults of each other,” he continued.
