Sunda International Company Limited has received praise for its dedication to gender parity and job development in Ghana from Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection.
The Minister toured the manufacturing lines during a working visit to the company’s Weija facility to gain firsthand knowledge of how it operates.
She was pleased with the excellent caliber of work and the conscious steps to guarantee that women are fairly represented in positions of leadership and decision-making.
In keeping with the spirit and objective of the newly passed Affirmative Action (Gender Equity) Act, 2024, the Minister proudly stated that the corporation has achieved a 50–50 balance between men and women in critical jobs.

Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey also gave Sunda International praise for generating thousands of job possibilities, especially for young people.
She stressed that these kinds of programs have a big role in lowering unemployment and boosting livelihoods all throughout the nation.
By incorporating gender equity and youth empowerment into their business operations, she urged more private sector organizations to follow Sunda’s example.
Sunda International will shortly receive a Gender Equity Compliance Certificate, the Minister revealed, in acknowledgment of its compliance with the new law’s standards.
In Ghana, the company is one of the few leading the way in implementing gender equity from policy to practice, she said.

The Minister also said that in order to encourage menstrual hygiene management and lower absenteeism among female students, the government will collaborate with Sunda International on its flagship project to provide free sanitary pads to schoolgirls across the country.
She pointed out that Sunda is a key partner in advancing this significant social intervention because of its significant position in the manufacturing of personal hygiene goods.
As a division of the Sunda Group, Sunda International is one of Ghana’s top producers and distributors of fast-moving consumer goods, such as diapers, sanitary pads, tissue products, and washing powder.
The Minister urged other private sector participants to follow Sunda’s lead by integrating gender equity into their organizational structures. She pointed out that adhering to the Affirmative Action Act would not only encourage inclusivity and fairness but also result in incentives and national recognition.
