Tema and the surrounding area’s water supply would be interrupted, according to a statement from the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL).

The reason for the disruption is so that the engineers of GWCL may perform urgent maintenance on the 42″ and 21″ transmission pipelines coming from the Kpong water treatment plant.

The outage will start on Wednesday, January 10, and end on Thursday, January 11, 2024.

“The whole of Tema Township, Prampram, Dawhyenya, Devtraco, Community 25, Ashaiman, Gbetseli, Afienya etc.” will be among the affected locations.

Customers in impacted areas were urged to “store enough water for the period indicated” by the GWCL.

Nonetheless, the GWCL promised that the water supply will return to normal as soon as the construction is finished.
