During yesterday’s fire outbreak at Ritz Junction in Madina, at least ten persons were shot to varying degrees on Sunday afternoon.

Ernest Opare, one of the wounded victims, claims he was shot in the forehead, back, and buttocks.

He and four other people are currently admitted to Pentecost Hospital.

Ernest told Adom News that Area, the alleged shooter, arrived furious and produced a pump-action rifle.

Area started shooting randomly at people and into the air while police and firefighters were watching.

The victim also claimed that despite seeing the violent behavior, the responding police officers had neither restrained nor arrested the culprit.

The reason behind the suspect’s attack is still unknown.

Numerous residents were forced to relocate as a result of the fire breakout, which burned over fifty wooden structures and metal containers.

Firefighters from the Madina incident Station spearheaded the Ghana National Fire Service’s (GNFS) fast reaction to the incident, which started at a washing bay.
