Ghana has been named as the host of the 2026 Africa Aquatics Swimming Championships.
The Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra will host the six-day continental championship from May 5 to May 10, 2026.
For the first time, the edition will follow a modified format, including competitions for Seniors, Juniors, Masters, and Inter-Zonal Championships.
The Bureau of Africa Aquatics expressed gratitude to Ghana for its ongoing dedication and assistance for the development of aquatic sports on the continent.
Having successfully hosted a number of significant events in recent years, such as the AA Junior & Senior Swimming and Open Water Championships in 2021, the Africa Aquatics Zone II Junior Championships in August 2023, and the Africa Aquatics Zone II Junior and Senior Championships in 2025, Ghana has steadily established itself as a hub for African swimming.
