Near the Madina Redco Flats, a destructive fire destroyed a number of temporary wooden buildings and metal containers yesterday afternoon.
At 12:36, the Ghana National Fire Service got an emergency call, and at 12:40, the first fire apparatus from Madina Fire Station arrived on time. Quickly, four (4) more fire engines were sent from Legon, Abelempke, and Headquarters to support the firefight.
Although utility poles, traders’ goods, and buildings used for both commercial and residential purposes suffered significant damage, the fire was successfully contained at 13:56 hours due to the prompt and well-coordinated reaction.
Work is being done to address every area of fire. As of yet, no casualties have been reported.
