The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has been sued by two men who are accused in the unfiled SML case, alleging that their rights were infringed when they were photographed holding signs bearing their names.

The applicants, Isaac Crentsil, a former Commissioner of the Ghana Revenue Authority’s (GRA) Customs Division and current manager at Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML), and Christian Tetteh Sotie, Managing Director of SML, claim the act was illegal and a violation of their dignity.

The two are requesting in a human rights case that the court rule that the OSP’s conduct were unlawful and stop the office from publishing or disseminating the photos.

They contend that any such publishing would unfairly stigmatise them and violate their rights even more.

A contentious revenue assurance agreement between SML and the GRA is the subject of an investigation against the company and a number of its current and former executives.

Former Finance Minister Kenneth Ofori-Atta is among the others allegedly being investigated.
