The Governing Councils of four public colleges of education were inaugurated by the Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, who reaffirmed the government’s commitment to bolstering governance and quality assurance in teacher education nationwide.

Al-Faruq College of Education, Agogo Presbyterian Women’s College of Education, Enchi College of Education, and Gbewaa College of Education are the institutions.

The Minister stressed the vital role that Governing Councils play in giving strategic direction, guaranteeing accountability, and assisting with the efficient administration of Colleges of Education during his speech at the inauguration ceremony.

He pointed out that promoting national education objectives and enhancing teacher training results depend on robust governance frameworks.

The newly appointed Council members were tasked by Honourable Iddrisu with carrying out their duties with honesty, professionalism, and a strong sense of public duty.

In order to advance academic quality, personnel welfare, infrastructure development, and responsible resource usage, he urged them to collaborate with college administration.

In order to facilitate the implementation of education reforms, especially at the basic level, the Minister further emphasised the significance of Colleges of Education in developing capable, creative, and values-driven teachers.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to offering policy support so that the institutions can successfully carry out their mandate.
