The construction of the model housing units under the government’s Greenville District Housing Program, situated at Kpeve in the South Dayi district in the Volta region, was examined by Minister of Works and Housing Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei.

A minimum of twenty (20) and a maximum of forty-one (41) housing units with basic utilities including electricity, drinkable water, and sewage systems are provided in each district by the Greenville District Housing Program.

To begin with, the program is being implemented in eight chosen districts throughout the nation.

The project is a component of the government’s larger plan to address housing requirements in underprivileged communities. It makes use of local materials, particularly Compressed Earth Bricks, to encourage environmental sustainability.

It is anticipated that 261 districts nationwide will duplicate the Greenville District Housing Program.
