NPP Ashanti Chairman Admits Party Lost 1.1 Million Votes Due to Voter Apathy

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has acknowledged that voter apathy contributed significantly to the party’s loss of about 1.1 million votes.

The NPP official said the decline in voter participation was a major factor behind the party’s poor electoral performance, highlighting the need for stronger grassroots mobilisation and increased voter engagement ahead of future elections.

The admission has renewed discussions about the NPP’s electoral strategy, voter turnout and the party’s efforts to regain public support in the Ashanti Region and across Ghana.
