An agreement to remove visa requirements between Ghana and the Republic of Malawi has been announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.

The agreement, which aims to boost Ghana and Malawi’s bilateral relations and ongoing cooperation, went into effect on February 7, 2024, according to a release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.

The agreement on visa waivers will act as a framework for people with regular, diplomatic, and service passports.

As stated in the press release, “travelers may transit through, depart from and stay in the territory of both countries for a cumulative period of up to ninety (90) days without a recourse to work within a calendar year”.
