In order to achieve President Mahama’s vision for the lands and natural resources sector, the session provided a forum for the agency leadership to talk about the particular difficulties they have in their work and look at methods to improve cooperation.

“You have demonstrated commitment in your roles, and I am excited to join you in this Ministry. Our core objective is to add value, and I seek your support so we can achieve success together,” he stated.
“I believe we can strategically position ourselves better for the the things we have the comparative advantage of. I am not here just to pass through, but I intend to make good on this opportunity to serve the good people of Ghana, to leave this ministry better than I met it.”
The Minister reiterated President John Dramani Mahama’s pledge to address the urgent problem of illegal mining, or galamsey, saying, “Our ministry will be a focal point of this agenda. This underscores our priority status with the President and our responsibility to implement and support government policies.”

The Minister heard concerns and difficulties from a number of agency chief executives, including those from the Lands, Minerals, and Forestry Commissions.
In response, the Ministry’s Chief Director, Prof. Patrick Agbesinyale, thanked the Minister for his words of encouragement and gave him the assurance that the ministry would always be there to support him.
