On February 25, 2025, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), the Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed H.E. Manish Gupta, the High Commissioner of India to Ghana, to the Ministry.

The High Commissioner had visited the Minister as a courtesy.

H.E. Gupta reiterated during the meeting India’s determination to deepen its bilateral ties with Ghana, focusing on expanding collaboration in multiple areas for both parties’ advantage.

He pointed out ways that Ghana and India could strengthen their cooperation via the International Big Cat Alliance, which India had organized.

Additionally, he promoted the Permanent Joint Consultative Committee (PJCC) between Ghana and India being revived and the Trade Committee continuing to be involved.

Additionally, he emphasized India’s ongoing assistance in offering scholarships to Ghanaians in vital fields including technical education, finance, health sciences, and STEM.

In response, Hon. Ablakwa acknowledged the importance of wildlife conservation and conveyed Ghana’s eagerness to join the International Big Cat Alliance.

In order to strengthen collaboration between the two nations, he also applauded the PJCC’s resuscitation.

He also expressed his appreciation for the Indian government’s scholarships, highlighting how important they are to the growth of Ghana’s human capital.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fortifying their bilateral ties and looking into new opportunities for collaboration that will benefit both countries as the meeting came to an end.
