The police in Aflao in the Volta Region last Saturday (May 10) detained four individuals for their alleged collaboration in the death of a mobile money salesman in the border town more than a fortnight ago.

“They are currently in police custody, assisting in investigations into the matter,” was stated in Ho on Tuesday, May 13, by DSP Felix Danku, the deputy superintendent of police and officer in charge of the Volta Regional Police Public Affairs Unit.

He remembered that on April 28 at approximately 6:15 p.m., Christopher Ahordo, a mobile money vendor in Gbagblakope, close to the Diamond Cement factory in Aflao, was ambushed and shot by five unidentified thieves, murdering him on the spot.

DSP Danku told the Graphic that the suspects then removed the deceased’s bag, which was thought to contain cash.

The four men were being prepared for court, he added.

DSP Danku warned the public about illegal activity and urged patriotic citizens to report suspicious individuals in their communities right away so that the police can take swift action.
