Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, the deputy minister of health, has questioned Prof. Ahmed Jinapor Abdulai, the director-general of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission, about how he obtained his professorship.
This follows the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission’s (GTEC) announcement that her claim to be a professor is unsupported by any evidence.
According to GTEC, there were discrepancies in the presented paperwork. Prof. W. Bradford Rockwell, the Department of Surgery’s Vice Chair for Academic Affairs, signed a letter from the University of Utah confirming that Dr. Ayensu-Danquah was hired as an Adjunct Assistant Professor rather than an Assistant Professor.
However, the Deputy Health Minister questioned the origin of the “Professor” title of the Director-General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission, Prof. Ahmed Jinapor Abdulai, in a comment posted on her social media site.
In her opinion, he must approach the pursuit of equity with clean hands.
“Friend: Prof. Grace, please, how did AHMED JINAPOR ABDULAI of GTEC earn his professorship on secondment? Is that even possible? she wrote in a social network post.
Me:Good question! Politics? Should we make flyers and circulate?
