Kwabena Boateng was sworn in as the newly elected MP for the Ashanti Region’s Ejisu district by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Alban Bagbin.
In the most recent by-election, Mr. Boateng emerged victorious with 27,782 votes, or 55.8% of the total votes polled.
Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, the independent candidate who was his closest opponent, garnered 21,534 votes, or 43.3% of the total.

After former MP John Kumah passed away, whose contribution to Ejisu was greatly missed, a by-election was held.
Speaker Bagbin gave the oath, congratulated Mr. Boateng on his election, and addressed him as “Honourable Kwabena Boateng.”
“Honorable member, you are welcome to the house. I will give you your tools, which you must hold jealously tight,” he greeted him.
